By Bruce Felps Woodrow-in-the-know Kyle Rains just sent word that Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings will join his wife, Micki Gunderson Rawlings, Woodrow class of 1968, in today’s homecoming parade. On the traffic front, street closings begin at 5:30 p.m., to correspond with the parade’s start.
By Bruce Felps Given Woodrow’s homecoming parade this afternoon and the game vs. the Hillcrest Panthers Friday night, this might be a good time to look back on last Friday’s win against Seagovillle. The Wildcats won it 28-20, with quarterback Piers Christian throwing for two touchdowns and running for another.
Community Contribution The Lakehill Warriors got the payback they were looking for in a rainy rematch against the A+ Academy Knights on Friday night at the Warrior Athletic Complex. Lakehill rolled to a 42-18 victory against A+ Academy in a steady rain.

The game against perennial rival Hillcrest High Panthers takes place at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 23, at Franklin Field. The parade rolls Sept. 21.

By Bruce Felps Vype, a publication dedicated to high school sports and related school activities, plans to feature a local spirit squad on the cover of an upcoming issue. The group will be selected by an online vote — open to individuals every hour — that closes at 5 p.m., Sept. 15.
