Community Contribution The Lakehill Preparatory School varsity volleyball team started district play Sep. 13 against Fairhill and won in three straight sets. Amanda Boles led the team in kills with 12.

By Bruce Felps In the end, Woodrow bested Conrad High last night, 42-34. The game teetered back and forth with the Wildcats taking a 1-point lead in the third quarter on a Damian Garcia point-after conversion after Conrad missed its previous attempt.

Community Contribution The Woodrow Wilson freshman football team, sometimes called “Wildkittens,” proved their mettle by beating Conrad High freshmen, 14-0, last night. The junior varsity team also won, 22-12.

Offensively the Lakehill running game was in fine form, amassing more than 300 total yards, led by the tandem of Cris McCarty and Milan Rabah. By Bruce Felps Woodrow slammed the door on the rival Hillcrest High Panthers last night, winning 29-7 at Franklin Stadium. Quarterback Piers Christian led the homecoming game onslaught with 7-13 passing for 138 years and two touchdowns. He added 190 yards rushing, which included an 80-yard run for a score.
