A pair of canine-centric events take place tomorrow and present a doubled-up opportunity for anyone looking to add a dog to the domicile.

Operation Kindness takes to Flagpole Hill from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Oct. 1, to put on Dog Day Afternoon.

The event, according to the website, features “vendors with samples, free goodie bags, K9 contests with great prizes, a free pet psychic, an alumni parade, free face painting, live music by GT Texas, and complimentary microchipping for the first 50 dogs.”

Hillside Village serves as the site of a fall version of its Howl at Hillside. The event occurs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Oct. 1, and includes all manner of dogs and cats up for adoption. It also will raise money for the White Rock Dog Park.

Activities include free zumba lessons, running clinics, face painting, barbecue from Lakewood’s 1st and 10, pumpkin decorating, and live music aplenty.
