The Lakehill Warriors got the payback they were looking for in a rainy rematch against the A+ Academy Knights on Friday night at the Warrior Athletic Complex.
Lakehill rolled to a 42-18 victory against A+ Academy in a steady rain.
Anchored by a powerful running game and an aggressive defense, the Warriors jumped to a 36-10 halftime lead and didn’t look back.
Cris McCarty rushed for 204 yards and four touchdowns, plus he returned the opening kickoff 82 yards for another touchdown.
Milan Rabah and Keith Mitchell added 90 and 35 yards, respectively. Jacob Westerbeck chipped in 25 rushing yards and added a 25-yard catch.
Defensively, Austin Simpson, Kurt Norman, Hudson Trent, and Rabah doled out plenty of hard hits and notched several quarterback sacks.
No fair weather fans, the Lakehill community came out in droves to cheer the Warriors on to victory and celebrate during the annual Tailgate Party.
Lakehill travels north to Trenton High School Friday night for their final non-district contest. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
Thanks to Gigi Ekstrom, Lakehill’s director of marketing and community relations, for the words and to Irwin Thompson, who took the photograph.
