By Bruce Felps J.L Long Middle School organizers need more, even more volunteers to help make next week’s Long Run a success. The 15th annual Long Run takes place Oct. 6, starting and finishing at the school.

Community Contribution Through the fundraising efforts of the Stonewall Jackson PTA, the school upgraded this year to a new white “blacktop” on which students play and learn. Community Contribution Lakehill Preparatory School recently announced the National Merit semifinalists for the class of 2012. Two seniors, Ruth Godbey and Brandon Kinard, have been awarded this distinguished honor.

Hank Missing

By Bruce Felps Hank the Lab dog went missing sometime during last night or early this morning from his home near White Rock Lake. The 4-year-old, 80-pound black Labrador retriever was in his home backyard last night near Fisher Road and Mockingbird Lane. Today, his humans are looking for him.
