Ms. Hunt Goes to Washington
By Bruce Felps
A city press release arrived during the lunch hour containing information about Angela Hunt’s upcoming trip to Washington, D.C.
Hunt, District 14 City Council representative, will participate Sept. 9 in a panel discussion called Local Leadership and Innovation During a Financial Crisis co-sponsored by the German Marshal Fund and the Urban Land Institute.
She’ll explain how Dallas used “innovative policy decisions and strategies” to balance the city budget.
Other panel members include Kasim Reed, mayor of Atlanta; Stephen Hughes, chief executive of Birmingham City Council, Birmingham, UK; and Linda Gibbs, deputy mayor of New York City.
Hunt’s constituents might recall her 23-day tour of Europe during 2008 when she was awarded a Marshall Memorial Fellowship.
