Warriors Start Strong
Community Contribution
The Lakehill Preparatory School football Warriors began the 2011 season fast out of the gate, jumping out to an early 21-0 lead after the first quarter against the Savoy Cardinals, a UIL school, Friday night.
The pace slowed in the second and third quarters as the Warriors dealt with a rash of heat-induced cramps and muscle fatigue. The Lakehill defense held Savoy at bay, while tacking on another score at the start of the fourth quarter to maintain a comfortable margin.
The game ended with a Lakehill victory, 28-20.
Outstanding group performances were turned in by the offensive and defensive lines. Individually, Milan Rabah led the Warriors with 183 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Sophomore Keith Mitchell and junior Cris McCarty added 74 and 53 yards, respectively. Junior Josh Wood was a perfect 4-for-4 on his extra point coversions.
Sophomore Hudson Trent led the defense in tackles and also recovered a Savoy fumble.
Lakehill travels to Navarro County to take on the Frost Polar Bears, UIL, Sept 2.
