Long Running Tradition

Plans are coming together and the logo recently became official — based on artwork by student Miguel Cardoba — for the 15th annual Long Run.

The event — benefiting J.L. Long Middle School — takes place Oct. 6 at the Long campus.

Kids and adults just out for a little community fun can participate in the one-mile fun run-walk, which starts at 6 p.m. Serious runners hit the ground at 6:30 p.m. for the certified 5K.

Early registration runs through Sept. 23 and runs — lot of running here — $10 for kids 14 and younger or $15 for adults. Sign up at the Long school office or the Luke’s Locker location by the SMU bookstore.

Gotta love an event with a monkey in the logo.
