Woodrow Tennis Comes Up Aces

Woodrow Wilson High School English teacher and tennis coach is justifiably proud of his engaged in the latter competition.
The Wildcats girls and boys tennis teams played in the district tournament March 29 and 30, with all players advancing from day 1 to day 2 and 15 of 16 players earning tournament medals for first-, second-, or third-place finishes.
The top ten players move on to represent Woodrow April 18-19 in the regional tournament to take place in Denton.
The boys and girls teams also took their respective district championships.
District finishes were:
Boys:
- 1st Place Boys Singles: Max Wongviboonsin
- 2nd Place Boys Singles: Bjorn Englesson
- 1st Place Boys Doubles: Ward Weber and Brian Tepera
- 2nd Place Boys Doubles: James Lee and Ku Htee
Girls:
- 3rd Place Girls Singles: Brittany de la Valdene
- 4th Place Girls Singles: Katie Resnick
- 1st Place Girls Doubles: Emma Rivera and Elisa Rivera
- 3rd Place Girls Doubles: Shannon Barthelemy and Gabbie Pucciarelli
Mixed:
- 2nd Place Mixed Doubles: Russell Regan and Halle Thorton
- 3rd Place Mixed Doubles: Jack Lane and Sydney Greenwood
