Trailers parked
By Bruce Felps
This morning’s cruise through other local blogs turned up this review of a Lower Greenville Avenue preview that occurred last night.
According to Unfair Park, last night’s meeting included a couple of food trailers situated at the old Arcadia site — get used to seeing that — and a developer’s pitch to prospective brokers for retail and restaurant operations.
It’s associated with the planned development zoning and business and traffic makeover coming to Lower Greenville.
On her blog, District 14 City Councilwoman Angela Hunt wrote that, “streetscape construction will start this summer and be finished about eight months later and the new late-night permit requirement begins in September.”
But seriously, peanut-butter-and-jelly cupcakes? Trying to remain open-minded.

I’ve seen the “No Reservations” episode which deals with Austin’s food trailers. If that’s what this evolves into then YAY! I hope we get some young aspiring chefs making beef tongue sticky buns with cilantro, parsley and fish sauce. And I know Torchy’s has a great trailer in Austin. Maybe this is a good thing?

Austin has had lots of trailer food and desert joints spring up in the last few years. They look okay and lots of local and tourist foot traffic patronize them. Hope it can be a friendly development for Lower Greenville.
