State Rep. Kenneth Sheets, the freshman legislator now representing House District 107, Friday made an impression on a community kindergarten class.
Sheets learned of a parent’s concern about a worn Texas flag flying at Lakewood Elementary School.
He appropriated — that’s legislative talk — a flag that once flew over the state Capitol and prepared an accompanying certificate.
Sheets then paid a surprise visit to the school and presented the flag to a kindergarten class and its teacher.
Timely, too, given Texas Independence Day occurs Wednesday.
