The Woodrow Wilson High School DECA chapter, part of the Distributive Education Clubs of America program, made a strong showing during last weekend’s Texas Career Development Conference.
The business and marketing conference took place Feb. 24 and 25 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, and two Wildcats earned spots as alternates to the International DECA Conference next month in Orlando, Fla.
Mark Fraser, automotive services, and Max Castillo, marketing management, will represent Woodrow during the international conference after placing second in the state competition.
The state conference included more than 3,200 students from more than 200 high schools across Texas.
The Woodrow contingent also included:
- Andrew Rivas and Ismael Sanchez — accounting applications;
- Rebecca Hidrogo — marketing management;
- Iris Jaime and Anna Reynoso — restaurant management;
- Arely Bustamante, Garrett Corona, and Kareni Hernandez — principles of hospitality and tourism, and;
- Guillermo Ramirez and Casandra Martinez — principles of marketing.
