Cafe Lago Hits Big 1-0

The Common Era turns 2011 at the midnight stroke tonight. Café Lago turned 10 years old at the stroke of Sunday.
The café, which opened Dec. 26, 2000, celebrated its decade of delectables with free birthday cake for its customers and some heartfelt visits to see owner Gabriela Kovacic.
Mike Daniel and his wife, Theresa, paid a birthday visit, which was appropriate because he was the first Café Lago customer. The couple flank Kovacic in the image at left.
The Koches, middle image, pay weekly visits to the bistro.
Homeless pets, sheltered at East Lake Pet Orphanage, also make fairly regular visits to Café Lago, which serves dog fare from its menu and donates a percentage of those proceeds to ELPO.
