Taste of Greenville Avenue Oct. 23 provided more than some good eats, good times, and a good way to bring together the community.
The event also provided some needed funds to neighborhood schools.
Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee elementary schools, and Woodrow Wilson High School — hmm, something seems to be missing — recently received donations from event organizers Greenville Avenue Restaurant Association. The presentation took place Dec. 4 at The Grape.
R.E. Lee and Stonewall each received $1,250. The Woodrow marching band netted $500.
Here’s to next year’s TOGA party.

So true…….The truth is, as you know Bruce, that Long, Lipscomb, and Mata need the money more than these schools. Luckily people like Marshall Carbajal are also in the LONG PTA and is very involved. LONG PTA does recieve a ton of money every year from LECPTA and others and from the LONG RUN fundraiser. And guess what? Its all spent on the school for items that any other school district would be paying for themselves. But we are proud to do it, we just need more parents to join the PTA!!
