Setting It Straight
By Bruce Felps
As mentioned yesterday in these cyber-pages, Light Up Lakewood takes place Friday night.
The “primary assist” dished out by the Lakewood Neighborhood Association went unexplained but it warrants a special shout out.
The tree of honor, the one sporting all the lights, leaned to one side for the previous seven installments of the holiday event. The neighborhood association, in its magnanimity, stepped up and ponied up to the tunes of $2,100 to have a tree service set it straight.
Now, in the e-mailed words of Carol Hensely, president of the sponsoring Lakewood Business Association, the cockeyed tree that was “is no longer an embarrassment.”
Look for the LNA booth at Light Up Lakewood and tell them thanks. People who really appreciate the gesture can make a donation to help offset the expense.

Bruce,
Thanks for the posting, and thanks to everyone who came out and supported a great neighborhood event tradition.
Donations to offset the cost of straightening the tree can be made by pay pal or credit card at http://www.lakewoodneighborhood.org.
