Get Your Wine On

Courtney Luscher, the general manager and sommelier at The Grape, starts a little holiday tradition tomorrow evening with the first of a series of wine tastings, dubbed Get Your Wine On.

Tomorrow’s event, followed each Wednesday evening at the same time during December, takes place from 6-7 p.m., Dec. 1, at The Grape Next Door, formerly Stoney’s next door to The Grape, duh.

The first Get Your Wine On of the season features Whit Meyers of Virtuoso Selections. Together they present A Taste of Spain, with four hand-selected wines paired with cheese and tapas-style bites … of food.

Each week thereafter, Luscher and a special guest will showcase four different wine selections in a themed setting.

The event costs $25, and people who participate and present their tasting notes at The Grape receive a 15 percent discount off that evening’s food tab.

I used to eat that cheese board @ the Grape (the one in the photo) about once a week and really miss it. Stoney has moved over to Grailey’s old location, I believe. As I now live about 600 miles away from my old Lakewood stomping grounds, I’d love a report on the new store!
