Gaining mayoral recognition
By Bruce Felps
The rain that day didn’t come close to washing away this year’s Taste of Greenville Avenue.
The event went off as planned with more than 30 area restaurants serving hundreds of people, and another 30 or so businesses with booths set up at the event.
A portion of the day’s proceeds went to benefit Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee elementary schools, and Woodrow Wilson High School.
Among those people who came out was Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, who proclaimed Oct. 23 to be the city’s official Taste of Greenville Avenue Day.
That photo up there shows Leppert with Jim Bradberry, president of the Greenville Avenue Restaurant Association, Avi Adelman, general manager of Taste of Greenville Avenue, and Shaina Adelman with the official proclamation.
