Postings this afternoon and evening will be a bit sparse, really, more like nonexistent, for today, and today only.

I leave in about eight minutes to join up with two of my dearest friends, and then we’re westbound and down loaded up and truckin’ to Abilene.

What, pray tell, might be the reason for our little sojourn, you might ask, you nosy little thing you? Abilene high school football.

Specifically Abilene Cooper vs. Abilene High in a game for all the district marbles … I think. Both teams qualified for the playoffs already and this one might be for the district crown.

The male half of my two friends — they’re related by marriage — has a son who marches in the Cooper band. Trombone, I believe. Say hello to the nice people Robbie. Robbie? Oh, he’s in Abilene.

So go Abilene Cooper High, uh … hang on a minute …. Cougars — sorry, had to look it up — and I’ll be back Saturday evening.
