New School Year Means Fundraisers, Planning

Community Contribution

With six months until the big event, plans for Lakehill Preparatory School’s annual benefit auction are already in full swing.

Parent Faculty Club members Caryn Jacobs, Janie James, and Ashley O’Neill serve as this year’s auction chairs. The team has been working all summer, putting together some of the big pieces for the event.

Now that the kids are back in school, they are ready to pull together all of the other pieces needed to make the auction happen. It’s also time for them to ask for help.

An auction kickoff meeting, with coffee and pastries, takes place from 8:15–9:15 a.m., Sept. 7, at Lakehill. All Lakehill parents are invited to attend, and no previous auction experience is necessary.

At the meeting, the team will share what they have accomplished so far, introduce the people who have agreed to chair different parts of the event, and give everyone a chance to join the team.

As anyone who has worked on an auction already knows, there is plenty of work to go around.

Lakehill’s Benefit Auction occurs, March 5, 2010. Last year’s event raised in excess of $100,000 for educational enhancements to the school.

Thanks to Gigi Ekstrom, director of marketing and community relations, at Lakehill.
