Wiping out at Eagles Lodge
by Bruce Felps
Not that I exactly became an honorary Woodrow Wildcat last night, but one of the alumna — hi Marti — invited me to attend the July installment of Last Thursday, the unofficial monthly gathering of Woodrow Nation at Fox and Hound pub in Lake Highlands.
Pretty amazing gathering. There must have been more than 100 graduated Wildcats — one is never an ex-Wildcat — ranging in classes from 1953 to the mid-ish-‘70s, maybe some ‘80s.
Among those people in attendance were members of Dallas DooWop, aka: The Fabulous Viagras, and The Wipeouts — all Woodrowers. The Wipeouts play tonight at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3108 Lodge in Forest Hills.
As usual with the lodge, the event serves as a fundraiser for some branch of medical research.
It happens stating at about 7 tonight, July 30, with dinner, and the downbeat drops at about 8 p.m. Admission costs $5 just to enjoy the show and $10 for food and music.
Got plans tonight?

Bruce,
It was GREAT to see you at LT last night. I was so proud for you to see EXACTLY what I was talking about. It’s really hard to explain the commadarie and LOVE there is in that room full of “old” Wildcats.
If anyone can show me a group of highschool alumni, ANYWHERE in the U.S. that rock like we ROCK … aint gonna happen so no sense even trying
::proud to be an “ole wildcat”::
Hope to see ya tonight …
Marti
