Chip in 2 Cents to City Budget
by Bruce Felps
Once again, the city finds itself in a budgetary hole looking this time at fiscal year 2010-11.
City Manager Mary Suhm presents her budget to the City Council on Aug. 9, and later that night district representatives begin a nearly month-long series of town hall meetings to allow citizens to voice their concerns, suggestions, and rare compliments.
The first such meeting to take place in these environs starts at 6:30 p.m., Aug.12, at St. Thomas Aquinas School, where District 9 Councilman Sheffie Kadane and District 14 Councilwoman Angela Hunt jointly hold forth.
Jerry Allen, District 10, takes the floor at 7 p.m., Aug. 17, at the Lake Highlands Freshman Center.
Kadane makes his solo appearance at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 19, at Winfrey Point.
Hunt goes again at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 24, a little outside the neighborhood at the Frontiers of Flight Museum near Love Field.
Let your inside voice be heard.
