Parading Intentions
by Bruce Felps
Again this year, the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA plans to use the Lakewood Fourth of July Parade stage to reveal the theme of this year’s Home Festival and tour.
The theme of the organization’s float directly reflects the theme of the home tour, so get a sneak-peak at the parade.
The 34th annual 2010 Lakewood Home Festival takes place Nov. 12-14 this year, accompanied by the auction party and the café and market. All proceeds benefit Lakewood Elementary School, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School.
Last year’s tour raised $103,000 for the three schools.
The home tour, the business end of the festivities, highlights five historical and architecturally significant abodes. Organizers continue to look for homeowners who wish to see their dwellings on display.
Anyone interested in having about 3,000 people come to their homes should e-mail the LECPTA. Don’t worry, they all wipe their feet before entering.
