Weekend Gallery Showing to Open
by Bruce Felps
Break out the multiplication table.
Four photographers, billed as 2 X 2, hang their artistry this weekend at Times Ten Cellars. The showing, therefore, became known as 2 X 2 X Ten X Two Nights, and it all equals the exhibit running June 25-26, 6 p.m. ‘til closing time both nights.
Admission costs nothing and free food and libations will be available, but be sure to leave enough for everyone.
Two of the photo-artists — Sharon Shero and her husband, Bob Quaglia — live in Forest Hills. The other two — Tatyana Bessmertnaya and Terry Cockerham — travel in from “the unspeakable suburbs,” according to Shero.
The works will be on display on the Times Ten Annex walls and on kiosk panels.
Quaglia’s works show a hat-tip to Andy Warhol. Bessmertnaya employs a photo-to-Xerox-to-paper transfer process. Shero produces photo collages finished with mixed-media. Cockerham branches into color images after focusing on black-and-white, so there’s a little something for multiple tastes.
