Fostering and practicing good citizenship paid off recently when two Lakehill Preparatory School students received the Seay Foundation Classroom Citizenship Award and the school garnered a healthy donation from the foundation.
Junior Kathleen Evans received a full scholarship for tuition at Lakehill next year. Senior Christopher Good received two years of college tuition to use at any university in America.
Lakehill also benefited. The foundation donated $200,000 because, “We feel that in a way the entire school was indirectly a part of the students’ success,” said Stephen M. Seay, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Seay Foundation.
“We were touched not only by the applicants from Lakehill, but also by the methodology used to bring us these outstanding individuals,” Seay said.
“To say that the Seay Foundation has made a very positive impact on the lives of students and, indeed, an entire school would be an understatement,” said Lakehill Headmaster Roger L. Perry. “The Seay Foundation has changed the future for these students in a very positive way. They also confirmed for them and all who know them that it does pay to be a good person who always tries to do the right thing.”
