Watching every penny
By Bruce Felps
The items I posted yesterday about the proposed Dallas ISD operating budget for 2010-11, and the associated public town hall meetings, and money from the 2008 school bond package earmarked for Woodrow and J.L. Long engendered a couple of follow-up notes from folks deep inside Woodrow Nation.
In chronological order of when those messages hit the in-box, Woodrow Wilson High School stands to glean about $10 million from the 2008 bond program. The money will go toward building additions to the school to house the upcoming college preparatory academies.
Looking to the future, DISD posted links to its Web site for the 2010-11 proposed budget and the town hall meeting schedule.
Come Monday, May 17, according to Woodrow Principal Ruth Vail’s office, the Web site also will contain links to the board briefing, town hall meeting presentation material, and frequently asked questions.
Want to follow the money trail? There ya go.
