Lakewoodstock Ready to Rock
Staff Report
The neighborhood comes together for eight hours of peace, love, music, food, and fun this weekend when the second Lakewoodstock takes over Lakewood Shopping Center and three-quarters of the Gaston Avenue-Abrams Road intersection.
The free event takes place from noon-8 p.m., May 16. Organizers encourage walking or cycling to festivities to make it a pedestrian-friendly afternoon and evening.
Lakewoodstock features an abundance of musical acts — including Woodrow Wilson High School sophomore Nick Chatham, who performs on the Whole Foods stage at 5 p.m. — playing on multiple stages.
Area artists will display their wares in exhibit booths, neighborhood restaurants and pubs supply the eats and drinks, and most of the shops at the center will be open to browsers and buyers.
Count on plenty of kids’ activities, too.
It’s all brought to life by the Lakewood Neighborhood Association and Lakewood Business Association.
