Well, that was different
By Bruce Felps
A business lunch took me north of Mockingbird Lane … and Northwest Highway … and LBJ Freeway — at which point my nose started trickling blood a little bit — and Belt Line Road, where I got a little short of breath … and Campbell Road. I saw a dog sled team there.
The meeting had nothing to do with this little community news Web site or our neighborhood, but I decided to take Greenville Avenue back home to the n’hood.
Except for the name, there is absolutely no similarity between Lower Greenville Avenue and Upper Greenville Avenue, which, by the way deadends into Plano Road.
Forgetting for a minute about the middle bit of Greenville, we have quaint little shops, neighborhood pubs, and an eclectic dining mix. They have industrial parks, manufacturing plants, corporate headquarters, and cookie-cutter national chain restaurants.
But you know what they didn’t have? Any burned out buildings.
A road, while still the same name, can be so different.
