Woodrow Grad Named Texas A&M VIC
Staff Report
So what’s a VIC?
It’s the Very important Counselor award bestowed by Texas A&M University, and Woodrow Wilson High School alumna Susan Odeski received the honor during the Very Important Counselor program, which took place April 12-13 at Texas A&M.
Odeski was among 36 high school counselors, college and career center coordinators, registrars, educators, and former students from across the state who were honored by the university.
Recipients of the Very Important Counselor Award earn the recognition for their continued support of higher education as well as their assistance with recruitment efforts by Texas A&M University.
Odeski received a recognition dinner with Dr. Bowen Lofton, the president of Texas A&M, an overnight stay in College Station, and tours of the university and the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

Congratulations, Susan! So well deserved. The
counselors of Woodrow Wilson, particularly you,
work tirelessly assisting our kids and their families
in getting the most out of their high school years,
then transitioning on to life’s next chapter. Many
thanks for expanding to meet the Seniors’ needs
with the EIF Program; it is fantastic!

Congratulations, Susan!
Thank you for the tremendous effort you expend to make college a possibility for so many Woodrow students, especially in light of the limited resources and staffing for all of the Woodrow Counseling Center. I know you and all the counselors go above and beyond and it is terrific to see your work recognized by the university community — something we, as Woodrow parents, have long appreciated.
