Spring, Flowers, Rabbits, Mom
Staff Report
It all comes together for Mother’s Day at the Dallas Arboretum.
Beginning May 1, the Arboretum kicks off its newest festival, Summer at the Arboretum featuring Peter Rabbit’s Flower Village.
Guests can bring mom to the four flower houses in the Pecan Grove that feature hanging floral baskets of pink, fuchsia, white, and purple color, and animal topiaries based on the classic children stories of Beatrix Potter.
The village also includes live animals on display at the homes every day from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The animals symbolize the characters of the Peter Rabbit stories — the duck, Mrs. Puddleduck; the mouse, Mrs. Tittlemouse; the hedgehog, Mrs. Tiddly-Wink, and the rabbit, Peter.
Peter Rabbit himself, pictured above, will be at the Arboretum to greet guests and take photos with the families every day, May 1-9, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Mother’s Day weekend features a musical trio on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage from noon-4 p.m., May 8, and 1-4 p.m., May 9.
Guests out to treat mom to a special occasion May 9 — Mother’s Day — can make reservations for Rosine Hall. There will be three seatings at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3 p.m., with a buffet.
Prices vary on each meal, call (214) 515-6610 for more information and reservations.
