Mart for Art’s Sake
Staff Report
The annual Spring Art Mart at the Bath House Cultural Center kicks off this weekend with a taste of the grape.
Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center, and friends of the Friends, gather from 7-9 p.m., April 23, at the Bath House for a reception, and art and auction preview, and to enjoy glass of wine or two.
The main event, that would be the Art Mart and associated silent auction, takes place over a two-day run — from noon-7 p.m., April 24; and 11 a.m.-6 p.m., April 25.
The market and the auction feature the creations of local artists who work in oils and watercolors, sculpts, photography, pottery, jewelry, ceramics, and paper. Probably a few other media out there, too.
Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center, which, in turn, supports visual and performing arts at the Bath House.
The 2010 Spring Art Mart is free and open to the public.
