Swim the rock

By Bruce Felps

Let’s step in to the way-back machine and return to … yesterday, which is when we published a little something about the call for vintage photos of White Rock Lake during the time the Bath House really served as a place for swimmers to change into their swimsuits before taking a dip.

Enrique Fernández Cervantes, the visual arts coordinator at the Bath House Cultural Center, wants to put together a new exhibit titled “We Used to Swim Here.”

What I failed to do — pardon me — was include an example photo forwarded by a nice lady from the Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center — hi, Joyce.

So, let’s step back in to the way-back machine and set the dial for circa early ‘50s, maybe. Kind of has a “Jaws” quality to it.

Thanks, Bruce, for the ink, er…pixels? I think photo comes from our friend Kurt Kretsinger and the White Rock Lake Museum at the Bath House.

Judy, not sure about the blob–could it be shadow of some aerial thing?

‘ glad to see you here, Bruce.
