Getting into a Festive Mood
Staff Report
The 2010 installments of the annual White Rock Lake Festival rolls around in about a week and a half.
The lake fest, organized by the White Rock Lake Foundation to help fund its work improving the lake and surrounding parks, runs for two days — 10 a.m.-8 p.m., May 1; and 10 a.m.-7 p.m., May 2, at Boy Scout Hill.
Family activities, attractions, and entertainment include a food fair and vendor booths, a classic car show, boat and pony rides, a petting zoo and obligatory bounce house, pet adoptions, and concerts performed by nearly a dozen musical acts.
Check online to view the band lineup and stage schedule for Saturday and Sunday.
Admission costs $5 per person, and children 12 and younger get in free. Proceeds benefit the foundation, a nonprofit group that works to better White Rock Lake and its environs.
