The switch to once-a-week garbage and trash collection and related moves from alleys to front curbs created more than a few growing pains.

Some residents grumbled, some neighborhoods all but revolted, and it looks like Peninsula regained its alley service.

Residents of Lakewood Proper get the change to say their collective piece — and hear from the head of Dallas Sanitation Services — during the next Lakewood Neighborhood Association general meeting.

The confab takes place at 6:30 p.m., April 13, at Lakewood Elementary School. Mary Nix, director of the sanitation department, will be the guest of honor.
